Example use cases

How configured product families map onto Cadxor.

These are illustrative examples written to explain the product. They are not customer stories, and the figures in them are assumptions, not results.

Flanged vacuum tube assemblies

Example use case
Family structure
Flange → tube → flange
User inputs
Left and right flange (KF/QF/CF families), tube OD and wall, cut length, 304/316L, electropolish, leak test
Rules
Flange socket must match tube OD; lengths over the standard maximum need engineering; 316L needs purchasing; leak test adds lead time
Generated
STEP assembly, ANSI drawing with GTAW callouts, cut list, BOM, NetSuite assembly item
Status
This is the family the Cadxor engine runs today.

Sanitary process spools

Example use case
Family structure
Fitting → tube → fitting, with optional branch
User inputs
End connections (clamp, butt-weld), tube size, length, branch position, surface finish
Rules
Surface finish limits per material; branch must clear end fittings by a minimum distance
Generated
STEP, drawing with weld map, material certification requirement on the traveler
Status
Branch positioning needs a second linear slot and a placement rule — an engine extension.

HVAC duct runs

Example use case
Family structure
Transition → straight duct → elbow
User inputs
Duct size, straight length, elbow angle, gauge
Rules
Gauge by duct size and pressure class; maximum straight length per section
Generated
Flat-pattern DXF per section, assembly drawing, BOM
Status
Sheet-metal flat patterns require an unfolding step in the CAD worker — roadmap.

Structural frames

Example use case
Family structure
Frame of standard members with corner connectors
User inputs
Width, depth, height, member profile, bracket type
Rules
Span limits by profile; bracing required above a height threshold
Generated
STEP, cut list with mitres, assembly drawing
Status
Requires multi-slot topologies beyond the current three-slot family.

Electrical enclosures

Example use case
Family structure
Enclosure + options
User inputs
Size, cutouts, mounting kit, finish
Rules
Cutouts must clear flanges and hinges; IP rating limits options
Generated
STEP, drilling drawing, BOM
Status
Feature placement on faces is a future engine capability.
Illustrative scenario

What the arithmetic looks like

Assume a manufacturer receives 60 custom tube-assembly requests a month, each taking 2.5 hours of engineering and 1 hour of sales/application time, and that 70% follow standard rules. If Cadxor automates those, with 15 minutes of engineering review each:

  • 42 automated requests × (2.25 engineering + 1.0 sales hours) ≈ 136 hours a month returned
  • ≈ 1,640 hours a year — a little under one full-time engineer

Illustrative only. Real results depend on your mix of requests, rule coverage and adoption. Use the ROI estimator with your own figures.
